We founded the Gallery at 257 Grant Ave. in San Francisco in 1982 after having collected 19th & 20th century paintings and sculpture the previous ten years. In 1990 we decided to focus on Post War California movements beginning with a one-year exhibition of Abstract Expressionist artists who had studied at the California School of Fine Arts under Clyfford Still, Richard Diebenkorn, Ad Reinhart, Mark Rothko and David Park during the late 1940’s.
Currently we are exhibiting large scale period Post War Abstract Expressionist, Bay Area Figurative, Beat, Berkeley School and Asian American art circa 1940 thru 1980. Having successfully collected, bought and sold fine art encompassing a 300 year time period we will on occasion offer earlier paintings in the gallery when we have the opportunity to acquire an outstanding example.
We represent the estate of John Saccaro.
